In 1985, while Mouial was working as an assistant for the renowed photographer Peter Lindberg, he met a painter whose art deeply moved him. After that he decided to devote himself to more personel and profound work. At 20, he became an " ethno-photographer" He discovered the " magic power" of the camera and its images on people while immersed in the psychiatric hospital universe for 6 months. The first resulting photo report entilled " therapy by the image of self" became widely acclaimed .Intrigued doctors used his work and the captived media published his photographs.

From that moment on, he criss-crossed the United States, meeting and and becoming friends with people on the margins of society who he photographed. You can see the mailman and woman basketball player from Galveston at the Photography and Museum in Nice and he'll tell you about Native Americans from Santa Fé and prisoners from Baton Rouge, but many cross-culturals regards remain locked in his silence.

He faced increasingly difficult worlds for 5 years, untils the last.... until instability . He fled and came back to France where the fashion world became a refuge. Cheerfulness, beauty, frivolity,nothing was superficial enough to ease the visions of the previous five years. Façonnable,Well,Pain de sucre,Evalinka....were his clients,Patrick Mouial sublimated men and women, showing them as carefree as he wanted to be again! The lure and its illusion worked for over 10 years, but gradually faded.

His first work » EBR ... finally put him on the road to true stability. He understood that freedom was greater, stronger and more beautiful in the eyes of the children from Baton Rouge It was also easer to attain. It had taken him 20 years...
